Das im Museum ausgestellte Objekt ist aus alltäglichen Zusammenhängen herausgelöst und wird im Kontext einer Ausstellung Teil eines Prozesses mit eigenen Gesetzen und Geschichten. Inszenierung, Anordnung und Abfolge von Exponaten in Ausstellungen beeinflussen – mehr oder weniger gezielt – die BetrachterInnen in ihrem Rezeptionsverhalten.
Die Projektreihe "storyline" widmet sich im Rahmen von zweitägigen Workshops den intentional und subkutan produzierten Narrationen von Sammlungspräsentationen öffentlicher und privater Museen. Bei der Analyse unterschiedlicher Museumstypen (z.B. historische, kunsthistorische oder technische Museen) werden allgemeine Aspekte von Erzählstrategien und Präsentationsformen gattungsübergreifend untersucht.
Die Veranstaltungsreihe will im moderierten Dialog mit MitarbeiterInnen der Institutionen und interessierten TeilnehmerInnen das Spannungsfeld zwischen Museumstheorie und -praxis, zwischen museologischem Anspruch und institutionellen Rahmenbedingungen ausloten.
The object exhibited in the museum is removed from its everyday context and becomes part of a process that has its own rules and stories in the context of an exhibition. The way the objects are staged, their order and sequence - more or less deliberately - aims at influencing how the viewer receives them.
story line is a series of projects that deal within the framework of two-day workshops with intentionally and subcutaneously produced narrations of collection displays in public and private museums. General aspects of narrative strategies and presentation forms are investigated by analyzing the various types of museums, such as historical, art history or technical museums.
The series wishes to test the field of tension between museum theory and practice, between museological aspirations and institutional framing conditions by means of a moderated discussion with staff members and interested participants.
